What does the Bible tell us about what family means?

what-does-the-bible-tell-us-about-what-family-meansIn the video below, Father Robert Barron explains what the Bible tells us about the meaning of family. God does not paint us a sentimental picture of family life. Children ultimately belong to God and the family’s ultimate purpose is to train and liberate their children for God’s service. A parent must let go of their possessiveness to allow their children to find their path in the Divine plan. Blessed  John Paul II said that the family is a “little church” where people learn to discern and accept their mission from God. When parents ultimately desire for their children to find their mission, it is then that they understand biblical family values.
